Gillian graduated from University of Surrey, Roehampton Institute with a BSc(Hons) in Dance and Business. During her studies she trained in Ballet, Jazz Dance, Graham, Release, Limon and Cunningham.IMG_9349

Her studies were followed by completing a Training Practice course, Counselling course and gaining a Teaching Qualification, as well as completing her MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy.

Gillian worked as a Dance, Movement and Performing Arts Lecturer in Further and Higher Education College’s in Greater London teaching on A-level, BTEC level 2,3 and Higher Education courses. Many of her former students can now be seen performing in the West End, touring theatre companies, film and television.

She currently is Joint Course leader for the BA(Hons) Performing Arts degree offered at the Hereford College of Arts and continues to teach on the University of the Arts London Extended Diploma Performance and Production course

Throughout her time as a lecturer she has choreographed, movement directed and directed more than 40 shows, including Alice in Wonderland, Carmina Burana, Macbeth, Right of Spring (Sacre du printemps) ByeBye Birdie, Oh What a lovely war, Zorro – the musical, The Odyssee, The Terrible Infants; as well as a number of showcases to raise money for charity.

In Herefordshire her choreographies have been seen at the Hay Festival, Courtyard Theatre, National Trust properties, the Folly Arts Theatre and at many Community events and Festivals.

Gillian is frequently invited to work with local schools and drama groups as guest choreographer and to run customized dance, movement and aerial workshops.

G HippGillian has trained with Aerialists from London’s Circus Space and with Lost in Translation Circus. As well as teaching Aerial Circus on the Extended Diploma Performing Arts course, she also completed her Artist in Residency at the Hereford College of Arts in 2014/15. Following the residency her dance company: Aerial Dance Company Hereford, became Company in Residence at the Art College, which allowed Gillian to continue to create and develop Aerial Dance choreography to perform at events and festivals throughout the Welsh borders.

From 2016 – 2017 Gillian was the Creative Network Performance Representative for Arts Alive Wales, which involved organising several meetings throughout the year for Performing Artists living in the Welsh borders to connect and discover new possible working relationships to develop in the area.

At present Gillian is conducting research for her PhD at University of Worcester.
